I'm collecting local stories and histories about our area, from Blacklion/Glangevlin/Dowra and around Lough MacNean, and would love to hear from anyone who could share one or more. Ghost stories and ancient myths tied to the landscape especially welcome!
Thanks everyone-- Susan

Thanks, Mickey! I'd love to hear any of them really, whatever you'd like to share. My own favourites would be the ancient stories and any myths or stories about the landscape, like the tales behind how Giant's Leap and the Giant's Grave got their names up in the burren. Ghost stories are perfect, that sort of thing. But anything, really. I'm putting a collection together for my kids and hope to have it illustrated as well before Christmas; they're all ages so I'm not looking for only children's stories. Thank you! -Susan

There is a story just published about growing up in Ballinaglera. My Dad is the author - we prompted him to write a journal and it is quite interesting. It can be ordered on-line and is also for sale at Laughlins store in Dowra and I think at the Leitrim Geneology Center. Infromation about the book can be found at www.justthewayitwas.com
